Thank you for downloading AutoCAD® 2013 and AutoCAD LT® 2013 for Mac® Service Pack 1

This update resolves compatibility issues that have been reported while using the software on the latest versions of Mac OS X Lion (10.7.4) and Mac OS X Mountain Lion (10.8). It also resolves problems reported by the Customer Error Reporting (CER) utility and other general problems identified after AutoCAD 2013 and AutoCAD LT 2013 for Mac were made available.

Problems Reported with the Customer Error Reporting Utility

As a result of detailed information from customers who used the Customer Error Reporting (CER) utility, a number of problems were identified and fixed. Updates have been made to the following features:

2D Display

  • Crash resolved when opening multiple 3D drawings containing a large number of 3D entities.

3D Solid & Surface Creation

  • Presspull no longer crashes.

3D Surface Modeling

Dynamic Dimension

  • Occasional crash when resizing a dimension with grips.

  • Problem fixed when writing data to a GraphicsCache or drawing file.
  • Corrupt GraphicsCache files are now removed at startup.
  • Crash on initial regeneration fixed when opening some drawing files.
  • On Lion, in Finder, crash when dragging a drawing file more than once to insert it as a block when the view style for the window is set to 'Show items as icons' or 'Show with Cover Flow'.
  • Crash when closing the program.
  • Occasional crash during grip editing.

Hatch

  • Crash when scrolling the mouse while using the HATCHEDIT command.

The following general changes and improvements have been made:

3D Solid & Surface Creation

  • Cannot create a lofted surface in some situations.
  • Centroid for 3D solids not computed correctly.

Annotation Scaling

  • Problem fixed with annotative scales not being added to objects from the Property Inspector.

Attributes

  • Underline and Overline options for multiline attributes now work correctly.

Blocks

  • Value stored in INSBASE is incorrect when a drawing is created with the -WBLOCK command.

Dimensions

  • Dimensions placed using the Perpendicular object snap shift when associated drawing geometry is moved, copied, or modified.
  • Latest settings for the QLEADER command are now remembered.

Field

  • Angular format now uses the correct types.

General UI

  • On Mountain Lion, Reset Palettes and Reset Application now work properly.
  • On Mountain Lion, the Toolsets palette is shown correctly after changing the value for the COLORSCHEME system variable.
  • AutoCAD no longer stops responding when invoking a dialog.

Graphics System

  • Crash when opening or saving some 3D drawings.

Hardware

  • Cursor now remains still when using the Trackpad to pan the drawing.

  • Text in multileaders with 'Extend leaders to text' set are no longer moved when opened or edited in AutoCAD 2013 or AutoCAD LT 2013 for Mac.

Performance

  • Memory leak when switching drawings no longer occurs.

Plot

  • Plot styles are recognized when uploading to AutoCAD WS.
  • AutoCAD no longer hangs for several minutes for some HP Office Pro printers when choosing a paper size in Page Setup dialog.
  • On Mountain Lion, the cursor no longer disappears after being moved outside of the Plot dialog when plotting to a PDF file.
  • On Lion, in the French (FRA) version, physical plotters now work correctly when plotting.

Selection

  • AutoCAD no longer hangs when selecting a spline.

New -nolisp Start-up Switch and Related System Variables

This service pack introduces options to control the operation of AutoLISP.

New -nolisp Start-up Switch

Start AutoCAD with this switch to disable AutoLISP execution in the current AutoCAD session, including all LSP, FAS files. This switch is useful for preventing malicious AutoLISP code from automatically loading and executing.

Disabling AutoLISP has the following effects:

  • Attempting to load any LISP file will fail.
  • Attempting to copy and paste AutoLISP code into the Command window will fail silently.

NOTE: Disabling AutoLISP will prevent some AutoCAD command tools from functioning and should only be used in emergency situations.

Indicates whether AutoLISP is enabled for the current AutoCAD session.

  1. Close all applications before you begin to install the update.
  2. Double-click AutoCAD2013SP1.dmg to mount the volume.
  3. Double-click AutoCAD2013SP1.pkg in the new mounted volume to run the installer.
  4. Follow the on-screen instructions.
  5. Launch AutoCAD for Mac after the installation has completed.
  6. At the command prompt, type _vernum and press Enter to verify the update was installed. The version number should be 'G055.M.108'.

This update replaces files from the original installation of AutoCAD for Mac and cannot be uninstalled separately.

To uninstall AutoCAD 2013 for Mac Service Pack 1, do the following:

  1. Close AutoCAD for Mac.
  2. In Finder, navigate to Applications > Autodesk > AutoCAD 2013 and double-click Remove AutoCAD.
  3. Follow the on-screen instructions.
  4. Reinstall AutoCAD for Mac from the original product media or download.

To install AutoCAD LT 2013 for Mac Service Pack 1, do the following:
